In 2010, the Sullivan Rotary Club asked Hild Landscaping to design a small park for a vacant lot located on the Northeast corner of the Sullivan square. The Sullivan Rotary Club wanted to provide a place for citizens who work in the downtown area to enjoy the outdoors during their lunch breaks without having to travel too far. The park would also provide a place for tourists to rest and relax and give community members a place to enjoy outdoor festivals and gatherings.
Along with the help of the members of the Sullivan Rotary Club, Hild Landscaping designed and installed 2 large patio areas with ample seat walls connected by a winding path. In addition to the hardscaping, numerous plants and other design elements were put into the landscaping beds surrounding the patios.
It was a pleasure for us to work with the Rotary Club and we look forward to working with them again on projects in the future. The park was completed in early summer and donated by the Rotary Club to the City of Sullivan for use by it’s community members. The following is a photo journal of the progress and completion of The Sullivan Rotary Park.
